What Does Having Followers Mean

On social media, it can seem as though you're falling into a numbers game. You begin to think that your ultimate goal is to increase how many people follow you, or how many likes you get, or how many link clicks you receive.

But this isn't a worthwhile goal to invest your time into.

Why? Because your content isn't going to reach everyone who follows you. In fact, research shows that Instagram accounts with less than 10k followers have a reach of only about 27%.

So what can you take away from this information?

Focus more on reaching the right audience. This audience will actively engage with your posts, they will be more likely to buy a product/service from you, and they will be eager to join your journey as a business on social media.

Posting content that engages this audience may result in smaller numbers, but it will also lead to a stronger community. So make sure that when you post, you’re posting for them!
